Why the jurisdiction matters more here than most places
Historic districts have their own rulebook
If the house sits in one of Peoria's historic districts — the West Bluff, Moss-Bradley, Randolph-Roanoke, High Wine, the Uplands — exterior work can need historic preservation review from the City of Peoria before a shingle comes off, and that is a real gate with real timelines. Separately, the City of Peoria, Pekin, Morton, East Peoria, Washington, Bartonville and unincorporated Peoria County each run their own right-of-way process for a container on the street. Where it actually goes
Illinois bans landscape waste from landfills statewide, so grass, leaves, brush and branches leave as a separate clean load bound for a composting facility — mix them into a demolition load and the whole container gets turned away at the gate. Illinois also keeps electronics, tires, appliances and other white goods, used oil and lead-acid batteries out of the landfill. Clean concrete is crushed to aggregate and scrap metal and clean wood are recovered, so separating pays. See where it goes.
Old houses, heavy debris
The core of Peoria is pre-1940 — Victorians, foursquares and bungalows with plaster and lath instead of drywall, a full basement under nearly every one and often two or three roof layers on top. Pre-1980 houses regularly turn up asbestos in floor tile and mastic, pipe and duct wrap, siding and textured ceilings, and pre-1978 means lead paint. Bluffs, alleys and gravel lanes
The city is built on river bluffs, and a loaded container has no business parked on a West Bluff or Grandview Drive grade, least of all on winter ice. In the old districts the rear alley off the original grid is frequently the only place a container fits at all. Out northwest through Edwards, Brimfield and Princeville, and southeast toward Tremont, it is long gravel lanes, farm gates a truck cannot swing wide enough for, wells and septic fields that have to be marked, and ground that goes soft in a wet spring. Do you charge extra to deliver outside Peoria?
No. Every city and community listed on this page sits inside our standard service area and the flat rate is the same as it is in Peoria. Delivery, pickup, your rental window and disposal up to the agreed tonnage are all in the number we quote you on the phone.
How far do you actually go?
Roughly a 25 mile radius from our yard, which covers Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties, both sides of the Illinois River and the farm ground out past Brimfield and Princeville. We go further for multi-container jobs and contractor accounts. If your address is not on the list, call and ask — and if we cannot reach you we will usually know who can.
Can you deliver out to Brimfield, Princeville or Tremont?
Yes, with a conversation first. Long gravel lanes, farm gates a truck cannot swing wide enough for, septic tanks and leach fields, and ground that goes soft in a wet spring all affect which container we can get in and where it can safely sit. Mark the septic field before we arrive. Tell us the address when you call and we will tell you honestly what will and will not work.
Which parts of Peoria do you cover?
All of it. Our yard is on W Middle Road, so the West Bluff, the Uplands, Moss-Bradley, Randolph-Roanoke, Averyville, High Wine, Weaver Ridge, Junction City, Sheridan Village, Grand Prairie and the Warehouse District downtown are all short runs. Placement is what is worth a sentence on the phone up there: the driveways are original width, plenty of those houses have none at all and the container goes in the rear alley, and the bluff streets are steep. Give us the address and we will have it sorted before the truck leaves.
